Giving May Bell a Home...
This Beltaine, May Bell the Golden Raintree will celebrate her third anniversary as the WRCF's un-official wishing tree. May Bell has lived through all three of the hurricanes which hit the Orlando area and the trials and tribulations of being a tree on-the-go. At the moment, May Bell lives in a rather stylist pot on the front porch of a volunteer's house. Being a tree, she cannot get herself back and forth to events and has to pretty much hitch rides where she can. This isn't always the most ideal way for a tree to travel, since sometimes she has had to squeeze herself in to the front seat of a rather small Saturn Coup. Sometimes she can ride in the back of a pick up truck, which she enjoys because she loves to feel the wind in her leaves. Traveling by motorcycle is out for May Bell as she can't quite hold on to anyone, and they don't make helmets in tree sizes.
May Bell over all is a happy tree. She is talked to everyday and is nurtured by members of the community. There is however a problem in May Bell's world. You see she is growing. Each year she requires more and more space in order to be healthy and happy. And soon, there won't be a pot big enough to hold her.
May Bell needs a permanent home, just as the WRCF needs a home.
The WRCF has been growing for the last fifteen years, and the pot we have been growing in is getting really tight. Like May Bell, we need some where that we can let our roots spread out into the deep rich earth and our branches spread towards the sky. May Bell would very much like to be planted in a place where she can spend more time with members of the WRCF. As she grows bigger and bigger, it becomes harder and harder for her to make it to WRCF events. May Bell promises to continue to grow big and tall , so that her branches and leaves can provide shade for us to rest under and provide homes for fairies and other spirits. However, she needs our help to keep this promise.
