It's Pagan Picnic Time!!
Due to the high Florida heat, we will suspend our Picnic at Langford Park for the months of July and August.
We polled the May Picnic attendees to see what they felt we should consider as options, and we unanimously voted to have a WRCF SOCIAL at the Food Court in Fashion Square Mall.
Please meet us at 4:00pm there at the Food Court - look for purple balloons!
You do NOT have to bring food to share! But if you wish to eat at the mall, you must bring your own money - WRCF will not be supplying food or drink.
The Pagan Picnic is held every third Sunday of the month (rain or shine, but not hurricane!) at beautiful Langford Park near downtown Orlando. This wonderful park has been host to many pagan events and rituals and we love coming together once a month to spend a little time in the sunshine with new and old friends.
Some Picnic Basics:
Look for the Pavilion for the Purple balloons! Picnics start at 1pm and run until around 4pm. The Park is located at 1808 E. Central Parkway.
The only Sunday that we do NOT have a picnic is on Father's Day! On this day we honor all the Fathers and Gods!
Everyone is welcome to attend the picnic. This includes both human children and the furry ones as well. We do ask that parents help their young children to fix their food and drinks. Pets are welcome as long as they are friendly and well behaved, and as per the Lanford Park rules, all pets must remain leashed at all times. Please be conscious of the fact that not everyone is animal-friendly and some people may be allergic to your furry family member.
If you plan to eat, please bring a side dish or something else to share! The WRCF provides hamburgers and buns, and the basic picnic supplies (including tea and water). For the rest of the picnic dishes, we rely on YOU! Your contribution to the WRCF Pagan Picnic is what makes it a community event, and we each do what we can to give back to the community and to share!
If you have special dietary concerns, please bring something that you can eat. Veggies and deserts are always welcome.
If you bring it, please take it home with you! This includes food and family! While occasionally it is nice when some forgets the yummy plate of brownies they brought with them, we can't be responsible for everything left at a picnic (and as cute as your kids are they really can't go home with the hosts)
The picnic is primarily a social event for the community. This is your chance to get out and hang out with your community members. Play a little frisbee or some checkers and just relax in the sunshine. Occasionally, we hold special theme picnics (Our Annual Chili Cook-off and The Ostara egg hunt), wish circles, drum circles and meditations. Participation in these events is purely voluntary and not the primary activity or purpose of the picnic.
Again, the Picnic is open to anyone in the community regardless of their personal path.
Please remember: This is a WRCF Community Picnic; a Pot Luck of sorts. Everyone that plans to eat, should bring something to share. The picnic is about Fellowship and Sharing!
If you have any questions, regarding the picnic or would to volunteer to help, please call
Thanks!
